How do I convert PDF to Word?
Upload your PDF, choose which pages to convert (all or specific ranges), configure image settings if needed, and click 'Convert to Word'. Download the DOCX file when processing completes.
Can I convert only certain pages instead of the entire PDF?
Yes! Choose 'Custom ranges' and enter the pages you want, like '1-10' for pages 1 through 10, '5, 8, 12' for specific pages, or '1-3, 15-20' for multiple ranges. This saves time and creates smaller output files.
What does 'Keep images' option do?
When enabled, images from the PDF are included in the Word document. When disabled, only text is extracted, creating a smaller, text-only DOCX file. Useful when you only need the text content.
How do image quality and DPI settings work?
Image quality (High/Medium/Low) controls compression - higher quality means clearer images but larger files. DPI (150/200/300) controls resolution - 300 DPI is best for printing, 150 DPI for screen viewing. These settings only apply if 'Keep images' is enabled.
Will the Word document look exactly like the PDF?
Our converter preserves formatting, tables, and layout as closely as possible. Simple documents convert nearly perfectly. Complex PDFs with special fonts or intricate designs may need minor formatting adjustments in Word.
What happens to my PDF during conversion?
Small files (10MB or less) process on our server but are never stored - they convert and return immediately. Large files (over 10MB) are temporarily stored during processing and automatically deleted after 2 hours.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, PDFs up to 200MB are supported. This accommodates most documents, including lengthy reports and books with images.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Use our PDF Decrypt tool to remove the password, then convert the unlocked file to Word.
Will converted Word files work in Google Docs?
Yes! The output DOCX format works in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, Apple Pages, and any software that supports Word documents.
Can I edit tables after conversion?
Yes. Tables from the PDF convert to Word tables, which you can fully edit - add rows, change cells, adjust formatting, etc.
How long does conversion take?
Small files (under 10MB) convert in seconds. Larger files take longer depending on size and complexity - typically 30 seconds to a few minutes for very large documents.
Do I need Microsoft Word to open the converted file?
No. While the output is a .docx file, you can open and edit it with free alternatives like Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, or Apple Pages.
