How do I convert PDF pages to images?
Upload your PDF, select the pages you want, choose PNG or JPEG format, adjust DPI and quality settings, then click 'Convert to Images'. Each page will be rendered as a separate image file that you can download.
Should I use PNG or JPEG format?
Use PNG for documents with text, diagrams, or graphics that need crisp edges and transparency support. Use JPEG for pages with photos or when you need smaller file sizes. PNG is lossless; JPEG is compressed.
What DPI should I choose?
72 DPI for web display and screen viewing, 150 DPI for general documents and moderate printing, 300 DPI for high-quality printing and professional publications. Higher DPI means larger file sizes but better quality.
What does the quality slider do for JPEG?
The quality slider (10-100) controls JPEG compression. Higher values (80-100) produce clearer images with larger file sizes. Lower values (10-50) create smaller files but with visible compression artifacts. 90 is a good balance.
Why do I need to set a background color?
Some PDFs have transparent areas. When converting to JPEG (which doesn't support transparency) or when you want a specific background, the tool fills transparent areas with your chosen color. White is most common.
Can I convert only certain pages instead of the whole PDF?
Yes! Click individual page thumbnails to select them, or use quick selection buttons for odd/even pages, page ranges (like '1-10, 15'), or first/last N pages. Only selected pages will be converted.
Can I rotate pages before converting to images?
Absolutely. Select pages that need rotation and use the rotate buttons to turn them 90°, 180°, or 270°. The final images will have the corrected orientation.
How do I download all images at once?
After conversion completes, click 'Download All as ZIP'. All image files will be packaged into a single ZIP archive, which is much faster than downloading each image individually.
Can I preview images before downloading?
Yes. After conversion, click 'Preview First Image' to open the first converted image in a new tab. This lets you check that DPI, quality, and format settings are correct before downloading all files.
Do converted images lose quality compared to the original PDF?
Not if you use appropriate settings. PNG is lossless and preserves quality perfectly. JPEG with high quality (90-100) looks virtually identical to the original. High DPI (300) matches print quality.
Are my PDFs uploaded to your servers for conversion?
No. All PDF-to-image conversion happens in your browser using JavaScript and Canvas APIs. Your files never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.
Can I convert password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Use our PDF Decrypt tool to remove the password, then convert the unlocked file to images.
