How do I merge PDF files?
Upload your PDF files by clicking the upload button or dragging them into the workspace. Then select which pages you want to include, reorder them as needed, and click 'Merge PDFs'. Your combined document will be ready to download in seconds.
Can I select specific pages to merge instead of entire files?
Yes! You can select individual pages by clicking on them, or use our quick selection tools to choose odd pages, even pages, first/last N pages, or custom ranges like '1-5, 8, 12'. This gives you complete control over what goes into your merged document.
Can I change the order of pages when merging?
Absolutely. Just drag and drop pages to rearrange them in any order you want. You can reorder entire files in File View, or rearrange individual pages from all documents in Pages View. The final PDF will follow your custom order.
How do I rotate pages before merging?
Select the pages you want to rotate, then use the rotation buttons in the toolbar. You can rotate by 90°, 180°, or 270°. Rotation works for individual pages or batches of selected pages.
Can I add blank pages between merged documents?
Yes. Click the 'Add Blank Page' button at any position in your document. Blank pages automatically match the size of surrounding pages and are useful for adding separator pages or leaving space for signatures.
Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can merge?
There's no hard limit on the number of files. However, very large merges (100+ files or 1000+ pages) may take longer to process and require more browser memory. For best performance, we recommend merging in batches if you have many files.
Will merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?
No. Our merge tool preserves the original quality of all pages. Images, text, fonts, and formatting remain exactly as they were in the source files.
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No. All PDF processing happens directly in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked before merging. If you have the password, use our PDF Decrypt tool first, then merge the unlocked files.
What's the difference between File View and Pages View?
File View shows complete documents as cards, great for reordering entire files. Pages View displays all pages from all files as thumbnails, perfect for detailed page-level organization and selection. Switch between them based on what you're working on.
Can I undo changes if I make a mistake?
Yes! Use the Undo button (or Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z) to reverse any action. We support up to 50 levels of undo/redo, so you can experiment freely.
Does the merge tool work on mobile devices?
Yes. The tool works on mobile browsers, though the interface adapts for smaller screens. For complex merges with many pages, we recommend using a desktop or tablet for the best experience.
