Deletion Policy

What Gets Deleted

  • Original uploaded files
  • Processed result files
  • Temporary files during processing
  • All file data completely removed

What's Not Stored

  • File names (not permanently stored)
  • File contents (not retained)
  • User identification
  • IP addresses linked to files

Database Records

  • Job records deleted after 2 hours maximum
  • Only basic metadata retained temporarily (file size, processing type)
  • No file names or contents in database
  • No tracking of document contents

Manual Deletion

During Processing

  1. Click "Remove" button in Editor workspace
  2. File removed from workspace
  3. Processing cancelled if in progress
  4. Server files deleted (for large files)

After Processing

  1. Download your result from Editor
  2. Click "Clear All" button to remove all files
  3. All files removed from workspace and server immediately

Session End

  • Closing browser tab clears workspace
  • Large files on server still follow auto-deletion schedule (2 hours maximum)
  • For immediate deletion, use "Clear All" button before closing

Best Practices for Maximum Privacy

General Usage

  1. Use "Clear All" immediately after download
  2. Close browser tab when done
  3. Use private browsing mode for sensitive documents
  4. Don't leave processed files in workspace

For Sensitive Documents

  1. Encrypt PDFs before upload
  2. Use Password Protection for confidential files
  3. Delete local copies securely after use
  4. Process during off-peak hours for faster deletion

Understanding Our Approach

  • Small files (<10MB): Not stored at all - processed and returned directly
  • Large files (10-200MB): Stored temporarily, automatically deleted after 2 hours maximum
  • No exceptions: We cannot retain files even if requested
  • No recovery: Once deleted, files cannot be recovered

File Deletion Timeline

File Type Processing Storage Deletion
Small (<10MB) Immediate Not stored N/A
Large (10-200MB) Background Temporary 2 hours max
Failed Immediate Not stored Immediate
